Surviving Mount 5x5 Challenge

It’s not fun when someone is sitting on your chest, smashing your face and pushing your elbows above your head. It’s even worse when they submit you.

If you’re tired of struggling on the bottom of mount then this challenge is perfect for you.

Go from being exhausted and submitted to making your partner feel uncomfortable on top of mount.

✅ You will learn how to use the floor as a gas tank.

✅ Build a frame that can add and bear weight.

✅ Eliminate the threat to your neck, collar and arms all together.

✅ Survive and thrive without needing to be stronger and faster than your opponent.

WTF IS A CHALLENGE?

Our Challenge Series is all about making skill-building easy and lasting. Over 5 weeks, you’ll master a new skill with just 5 minutes of content each week. Instead of watching and forgetting, you will learn and do.

Warning. Do not do this challenge if you never get mounted or submitted . . . or if you aren’t ready to bring a new focus to your training.

What to Expect

  • Get comfortable under Mount. Learn to connect to your partner and make them uncomfortable by using frames, connection and off-balancing your partner. Use the unlimited gas tank that is the ground to save your strength to get comfortable under Mount.

  • Take a look at some of the common mistakes people make that give control to your partner. Take that control away with some drills and practice that lets you understand the connection, movement and base that allows you to frustrate your partner and steal their control.

  • This week covers some 'what if' scenarios with a focus on what happens if your partner threatens your neck or tries to create connection with you. Keep your partners hands active so they can not settle in and get what they want.

  • This week you will learn how to prevent your mounted partner controlling your head as well as how to prevent your arm getting trapped for a mounted armbar setup.

  • How to deal with headlocks and more on relieving pressure from your neck and avoiding armbar attacks when under Mount.
